ManUp! is a registered not for profit organisation. In 2019 ManUp! is conducting an awareness and educational campaign in rural and regional Queensland. We are committed to reaching men in these areas as men in these communities have a 32% higher prostate cancer mortality rate than men in capital cities. An awareness and educational program is vital in these areas if we are to save the lives of a significant proportion of the population.
The goal of the ManUp! Prostate Cancer Education Program is to raise the public's “brand awareness” for prostate cancer, its detection, its treatment and the need for a program that offers support to men living with prostate cancer. |

Rotary Connects the World...and Our Rotary family!
The Satellite Club are hosting a dinner on
4th September.
Since it's a little too late for our usual Christmas in Winter theme, this year we will celebrate all things Rotary through it's theme "Rotary Connects the World". We are planning a 3 course meal, an international raffle, some activities to laugh at and some 1 minute tabletalk challenges on all things Rotary.
This will be a great opportunity for us all to invite along that special person who you would love to connect to Rotary as a member.... fun, food, information, fellowship... it's all there.
RSVP to Ann (0402037358 or arich9gm@gmail.com)
by Monday 2 September 10am.

BIO Cathy Booth Cathy Booth’s passion for helping to give vulnerable children a second chance at life is inspirational. As a school teacher, mother of four, and grandmother of four, Cathy has always been an advocate for helping children to reach their full potential. After a short visit to Kenya in 2010, Cathy returned to Australia determined to start her own charity to combat child abandonment and orphaned children. In 2016, after five long years of fundraising in Australia and creating the required infrastructure in Kenya, her dream of opening a self-sustainable children’s village in Ukunda, Kenya was finally a reality. Hear the difficulties of running the Umoja Project in a poverty stricken area of Kenya . Cathy will speak about how Umoja is so much more than just a children’s home. Umoja is a project which also helps the community, and how the support of Rotary and Rotarian Volunteers, has helped her team truly achieve the extraordinary while Cathy has continued to work full time up until the end of June this year in her profession, whilst overseeing the project from Australia. Cathy returns to Kenya twice a year to take Rotary Volunteers and other volunteers to the project. We hope that you will see how determination, persistence, and passion have made this project what it is today. Cathy hopes she can be your inspiration. Cathy Booth is the Founder Director of Umoja Orphanage Kenya and is a member of Fitzroy Rotary Club District 9570. Umoja Orphanage Kenya is a Project of the Sunrise Rotary Club Bundaberg RAWCS Project.Number 51/2011-12 http:/umojahome.com/kenya/index.php
