A Field of Dreams - Australian Story

The small rural community of Mingoola, on the Queensland/NSW border, was facing a bleak future. The population was in decline and the local primary school was about to close. Meanwhile in Western Sydney, advocate Emmanuel Musoni saw problems in his community of refugees from Central Africa.

While most of us were attending our meeting on Monday night, ABC aired a story about Mingoola. Through Gino Cabria, the Stanthorpe Rotary Club has a connection with this story and many Rotarians donated blankets and winter clothes last winter to the people featured in this story.
