Thanks to Julia for the following contribution for the bulletin:

Tamara is now our Chef at International.  She cooked dinner for us at Monday
meeting.  Beautiful gourmet stuffed chicken breasts steamed whole green
beans and mash.  Everybody looked pleased with the meal and comments were
the standard had picked up.  The bread and butter was presented separately
and dessert for  those who didnt have their usual fruit salad and icecream,
received a pear poached in wine juice with very thick whipped cream I
believe it was, may have been ricotta.  (I didn't catch up with Tamara re
ingredients) but perhaps that could be an addition we add to our dinner
meetings, the chef comes in and tells us what we are eating as other
restaurants do these days.

There were about 20 members and Belinda's Jeremy at dinner.  The flag was
discussed.  It is still flying over the whiteboard, but I have agreed to get
a piece of dowel and hang it down from those hooks already on the wall as we
see no other way to hang it.

The tables were set up in the horse shoe, but only by the doorway were there
places on the inside.  This was good as we were all facing each other.
There were a number of gold coin donations for the happy coins including
mention of Peter & Heathers Anniversary.

There seemed to be a positive vibe in the room.  Everybody chatting with
whoever was beside them.

President Kim talked about the new format for committee meetings, suggesting
that between now and the end of the year, the committee chairs would sit at
the top table ( on committee meeting nights) and members could ask questions
of those chairs to discuss ideas and plan that way instead of breaking up
into groups like we have been doing.
The Opera is our big event coming up and group needs to participate more in
that planning.

President Kim summarised the board's actions taken to address the
inappropriate behaviour of two members on the 11th February meeting.
Then he opened the meeting to discussion and there were positive and
negative views aired, some suggestion that the way the board had followed
the constitution was a bit harsh.  I would suggest that by the time we all
went home, many felt the board had not handled the issues as they would have
done, but agreed we need to move forward to help heal the hurts of members
and work towards removing those behaviours from our communications that are
not meeting the four way test Rotarians aspire to uphold.  Kim also said
that the board would meet on the 19th to discuss the responses to the
letters that were sent regarding the inappropriate behaviour. He also
responded to a question about terminations and reiterated that was not state
d in the letters, the letters asked for cause not to be terminated.  He said
two termination letters had been received, they still required acceptance
from the board
and there was  still ongoing mediation happening.   The meeting
concluded with us standing and saying the Four way test together.

Next meeting is card evening with the Lions and Morwenna will be our MC.  We
are all looking forward to a fun evening.

Cheers
Julia

Took a call from John Paskins, a past member and President of our club, who asked me to let members know that due to some issues at Donations In Kind, he and PDG George Grant are currently managing the DIK centre and it is available for business as usual.
Please also see the notice below for our club member, Janelle Bell, who is Shaving for a Cure for Leukaemia and would be pleased to have your support for her efforts.

World's Greatest Shave

MISSON: TOTALLY POSSIBLE!

Dear friend,

Today, 35 people just got told they have blood cancer. Tomorrow, another 35 will face the same news.

I am being brave and shaving next week as part of World's Greatest Shave.

You can help me on my mission to shave the world from blood cancer by donating to my page.

Every donation I receive gives me hope that researchers will get one step closer to a cure.

Most people like to give around $53, which can do wonderful things like contribute to the work of a PhD scholarship recipient. But you can give any amount and it will make a difference.

Head to my personal fundraising page to show me your support: http://my.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/janellebell

Thank you so much!

Janelle Bell
