Notes from President Fran Hodgson
- Hope you are all keeping well and following the protocols around social distancing. It has been a hectic week of changes, stand downs and border closures. I was saddened to hear that some members have been stood down from their job; others no doubt will find their business curtailed. I do ask members to keep in touch with one another during these hard times.
- The Granite Belt Water Relief sausage sizzle on Saturday mornings has been suspended for the time being. Russell has also suspended water deliveries. I’ll let you know when we are back there.
- Rotary Club Meals on Wheels is on Monday 6th – 9th April. Contact Julie if able to help out. Meals on Wheels may need volunteers to help out with other groups who may find it hard to get volunteers. If you have extra time and are willing to be on an emergency roster, please let me know.
- I am looking into the possibility of using ZOOM for online Rotary meetings after Easter if we are still in lockdown. Does anyone have any experience with ZOOM already? What do members think?
- If you are staying home and have time to acquire a new skill, remember the many professional and personal development opportunities available in the Rotary Learning Center. Online courses include options such as Mentoring Basics and Becoming an Effective Facilitator. Perhaps you could udate your details on MyRotary and Club Runner.
- Are you on Facebook? Have you liked Rotary Club of Stanthorpe and Dementia-Friendly Stanthorpe?
- I hear that Jim Barnes is killing spiders in the Rotary Shed, Peter Watters is growing beautiful pumpkins. Best wishes to our member, Stephen, on the Council Election on Saturday.
