Bulletin information
Thank you to all attendees at the Zoom meeting last week. I was really chuffed to have 4 satellite members join the meeting. We all enjoyed meeting  our newest Satelliter, Karl Foskett and hearing his stories. The 4 Way Test was given by Ann, Tony provided a toast to our club and all present wore their smartest Race Day hats .  Winners of the best hat competition went to Karl and to Kylie.  (See Zoom Picture below)

Tony Heading presented  an interesting  and informative powerpoint  on Rotary’s response to the disasters: Drought, Fire and COVID 19… which clearly demonstrated that our service organisation involves ‘people of action’. I have recorded Tony’s presentation and  will put it up on our website when I work out how to do it .

Tony also mentioned that the US exchange rate for May is way better than it was in April… so get your Centurion Towers into John this month.  John also has spares for you.

Kim provided some entertainment in his attempt to elicit donations for the Shelterbox.  I hope those who participated have collected their goodies.

The raffle donations continue to grow and we now have two iron chooks to add to the basket, courtesy of Geoff, as well as board games and chocolates,  The raffle will be drawn at the end of the Rotary year and those who attend the Zoom meetings will gain a raffle ticket for each meeting attended.
Thank you to Julia for sending out an update of the Member’s contact list.

Ann has picked up the new shirts and try on information will be forthcoming.

Hope all the mums enjoy being spoilt on Mother’s Day this Sunday.

At next Monday’s Zoom meeting  Ross Smith  will be providing a presentation on Malaria, which was planned before COVID 19 upturned our social structure.  Trust you will all join in. Remember also to wear a hat ‘with a story’.

Jokes
On average, a Panda feeds for approximately 12 hours per day. This is the same as an adult at home under quarantine, which is why we call it a ‘Pandemic’

After finding a woman sobbing that she had locked her keys in her car, a passing soldier assures her that he can help.
She looks on amazed as he removes his trousers, rolls them into a tight ball and rubs them against the car door. Magically it opens. "That's so clever".....

The woman gasps. "How did you do it"....?
"Easy," replies the man.
"These are my khakis".....!!!

Hat bests:  Karl and Kylie - Great choices everybody and I particularly enjoyed the stories that everybody shared.

Youth will once again be able to jump for joy when Covid19 restrictions ease and we can all be active in the community once more
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY ABBA LOVERS

It seems the world has discovered the power of laughter to stay sane in these difficult times, like the YouTube offering from New Zealand that kicks off our midweek mirth.
